About this class
Tap Dance at The Village School of Dance
Tap dancing was born of the fusion of cultures, influenced by African rhythms, Irish stepping and English clogging. The tap dancer wears shoes fitted with heel and toe taps and sounds out audible beats by rhythmically striking the floor.
Tap is so much fun for our students, giving them the chance to make noise with their feet and learn to become a musician and a dancer at the same time!

Adult Tap (Beginners Welcome) A fun and friendly tap class for adults of all abilities. Whether you’re completely new to tap or returning after years away, this class is a great way to improve coordination, keep active and enjoy learning exciting rhythms and routines in a relaxed, supportive environment. No previous experience is needed - just come along and have fun!

The class offers students an introduction to both modern and tap. Movements and technique are taught creatively providing an excellent preparation for the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (ISTD) syllabus.

Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (ISTD) syllabus class. Supporting classes available for this group in Modern, Acro dance and ballet.
